Pumpkins, beach music and local high school theater are among attractions this weekend in Wilkes County.
The Town of North Wilkesboro’s Pumpkin Patch Festival is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday as part of the Wilkes County Farmer’s Market at the Yadkin Valley Marketplace along the Central Business District Loop in downtown North Wilkesboro. Admission is free. Features include cooking with pumpkins.
The Band of Oz will bring live beach music to the Yadkin Valley Marketplace stage from 6-10 p.m. Saturday. This is the Town of North Wilkesboro’s last show in the 2019 "Concerts on the Deck" series, presented by Window World. Admission is free.
The Wilkes County High School Theatre Department will present “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” at 7 p.m. Friday, 7 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday at the Stone Family Center in the Wilkes Schools’ administrative building on Cherry Street, North Wilkesboro. Tickets are available at the door for $5, with kids 5 and under admitted free. Concessions will be sold.
Under the direction of Wes Martin, the Wilkes High School Theatre Department is sponsored by the North Wilkesboro Kiwanis Club and the Terrific Kids Program. It features students from all five Wilkes high schools.
