A Pre-FaithFest Kickoff event with free admission will be held at the Wilkesboro’s Carolina West Wireless Community Commons in downtown Wilkesboro on Aug. 25, which is a week before the third annual FaithFest at Wilkes Community College’s Watson Amphitheater.
The Pre-FaithFest event is presented by Wilkesboro-based Craig Church Ministries and other FaithFest organizers.
“The community and local churches are invited to come together to kickoff FaithFest 2019 during this evening of worship and music, with an emphasis on prayer,” said Craig Church, FaithFest founder and director. “Pastors are encouraged to bring their churches for this community-wide event.” Local food trucks will be on site.
Church said the Pre-FaithFest event is part of efforts to make FaithFaith a life-changing experience. “We want to pray for FaithFest, our community, churches and country. We are asking the Lord to send a great awakening.”
He said momentum is growing for FaithFest, with people coming from Australia and from across the U.S.
The lineup of award-winning Christian music artists at this year’s FaithFest includes For King and Country, Jason Crabb, Zach Williams, Natalie Grant, Selah, Rhett Walker Band, Iron Bell Music and Leanna Crawford. Music from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and gates open at 12:30 pm.
Presented by Wilkesboro-based Craig Church Ministries, FaithFest is a one-day music festival and worship experience based in structure on a MerleFest model. In addition to music, it includes testimonies and times of prayer and experiencing God’s Word.
The family-friendly event includes the FaithFest mall, food vendors, ministry vendors, children’s activities, artist merchandise and autograph tents and air-conditioned restrooms.
Church said he wanted to thank the 350-plus volunteers and partners who make FaithFest happen.
“We have been so blessed with many local businesses, churches and individuals who give sacrifically so we can keep our ticket prices low, all free admission for children 12 and under and host 100-plus special needs families, as well as the hearing impaired,” said Church.
Church said a Pastors Appreciation Reception, with dessert and encouragement from FaithFest organizers and Winston-Salem-based Energize Ministries, is at 5:45 during FaithFest at the Creekside Stage. A Welcome Stage for people who arrive before gates open will be in the parking lot near the tennis courts from 9:30 a.m. until gates open at 12:30 p.m. Last year, people started lining up at 7:45 a.m.
Tickets are on sale for $35 apiece at www.faithfestnc.com.
