Garden plots are still available for rent at Cub Creek Community Garden in Wilkesboro for the 2020 season.

Vegetables, flowers, herbs and annual fruit of the gardener’s choice can be grown in the garden plots.

The rental fee is $20 per garden plot until December 2021. The community garden, owned by the Town of Wilkesboro, is at Cub Creek Park. Garden plot assignments are administered by the Wilkes Cooperative Extension office.

The remaining plots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until Feb. 15. Interested people can fill out the application form on the Wilkes Cooperative Extension office website (wilkes.ces.ncsu.edu) and mail in or drop off payment to secure a plot.

For those who prefer a paper form, applications are available in the lobby of the Wilkes Cooperative Extension office at 416 Executive Drive, Wilkesboro.

Payment (cash or check made to Wilkes County Cooperative Extension) must be made, along with the application, to reserve a plot. There is a secured box in the lobby for submitting applications and/or payment from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

For more information, contact the Wilkes Cooperative Extension office at 336-651-7335.
