Additional charges have been filed against a Wilkesboro woman arrested Tuesday evening on two counts of felonious hit and run resulting in death.

Kelly Diane Snapp, 43, is now also charged with two counts of felony death by vehicle, said Wilkesboro Police Chief Craig Garris Wednesday afternoon. Garris said the additional charges were filed after consultation with the district attorney’s office.

Snapp remains in the Wilkes County Jail with a $500,000 bond.

Wilkesboro police charged Snapp in connection with the deaths of Stephanie Lynn Chahoy, 40, and Chase Eugene Crawford, 35, both of North Wilkesboro. Their bodies were found Sunday near the Curtis Bridge Road bridge over the Yadkin River.

Garris said Wilkesboro police took Snapp in for questioning Tuesday after finding the vehicle believed to have been involved in the hit and run at her residence. She was then arrested on the initial charges. The car has been seized.
