The Town of Wilkesboro will host Concerts in the Commons events on Saturday and Aug. 16, both from 6-10 p.m.

Both events will feature live music, food trucks and activities for children in the Carolina West Wireless Community Commons on Main Street. Admission is free.

Saturday’s event will feature performances by “Wonderwall - A Tribute to The Beatles” at 6 p.m., followed at 8 p.m. by “Midnight Riders,” an Allman Brothers tribute band.

The Aug. 16 event will feature a performance by the Moore Brothers Band at p.m., followed by “The Stranger - A Tribute to Billy Joel” at 8 p.m. This event includes performances rescheduled from the May 11 concert, cancelled due to inclement weather.

Greensboro-based band members Stan Bullock, Doug Dennis, Marcus Horth and Chuck Martin will perform songs of the Beatles on Saturday.

The Nashville-based Midnight Riders features twin guitars and dual drummers.

The Moore Brothers Band, from western North Carolina, performs a mixture of blues and rock From Musikfest to MerleFest.

The Stranger is a six-piece band brings together an authentic replication of Billy's timeless music, crowning it with soulful, spot-on vocals.”

Event organizers with the town dubbed this season “the year of tributes,” with tribute artists coming from across the country.

Concerts are the second Saturday in each month from 6 to 10 p.m. from May through October.
