Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Germantown Road in Moravian Falls Monday morning and found two people burned, said Wilkes Fire Marshal Niki Hamby.
Hamby said firefighters found the two people outside the modular home where the fire occurred. He said they are believed to be related.
One of the two, a man, was burned more severely and was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Hamby was still waiting to interview the man about what happened late Monday morning.
He identified the other burned person as Donna Marie Severt and said tax records listed her as owner of the modular home. Severt was treated at Wilkes Medical Center and released, he said.
Hamby didn't have any details to share on the cause of the fire late this morning.
Trever Hamby, captain of the Moravian Falls Fire Department, said firefighters quickly contained the blaze and limited damage from flames to the living room, but added that there was smoke and water damage elsewhere.
He said firefighters were dispatched a little before 8 a.m. to the residence, which was a short distance beyond the intersection of Moravian-Kilby Road and Germantown Road at 2326 Germantown Road.
The Boomer, Goshen and Broadway fire departments assisted Moravian Falls. Wilkes Emergency Medical Services also responded.
