The Wilkes Sheriff’s Office arrested two men without incident on May 18 for the theft of a 2017 Dodge 5500 truck with an attached 24-foot-long gooseneck trailer belonging to Parks Waterproofing in Roaring River, reported Capt. Logan Kerr of the sheriff’s office.
Duncan Cory Dula, 29, of Speedway Lane, North Wilkesboro, and Henry Larry Shew, 42, of Henry’s Country Road, North Wilkesboro, are both charged with felony larceny, breaking or entering a motor vehicle and theft of a motor vehicle. They’re also both charged with trespassing.
Dula was placed in the Wilkes County Jail with a secured bond of $15,000 and Shew was placed in the jail with a $20,000 secured bond.
Jody V. Parks of Roaring River reported to the sheriff’s office that the truck and trailer, worth about $59,000, were stolen from the parking lot of Mountain View Hardware on Speedway Road, North Wilkesboro, sometime between May 15 and 8 a.m. May 17.
Stolen with the truck and trailer were a chainsaw, leaf blower, impact driver, sawzall, hammer drill, block saw, other tools and batteries worth bout $2,450. A sheriff’s report indicated that the truck and trailer were recovered but not the other items.
