Ken Crouse, the mushroom maven of Millers Creek, takes the viewer through a morning wild fungi foray at his Peaceful Valley Gardens on Aug. 29.

Crouse, one of the country's leading mycologists, will be leading a foraging session and tasting on Sept. 15 at the Patterson School Foundation near Lenoir, N.C., from 2-4 p.m. Visit to register for the outing.
