Eric Burnett, 31, of Purlear, was injured on Tuesday afternoon, June 4, at a swimming hole called the Devil's Wash Tub on Fall Creek in far western Wilkes County.

As of the afternoon of June 5 Burnett was in serious but good condition at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was flown by AirCare helicopter to the hospital on June 4. Video courtesy Eric Burnett.

The Devil's Wash Tub is on private property. Owners of the property with the Devil's Wash Tub have posted “no trespassing” signs and say they strongly advise people against jumping from rocks into Fall Creek there. Numerous people have been injured at that location.
