Angela Necole Shell of Wilkesboro and Kelly and Jalina Johnson of Purlear announce the engagement of their daughter, Alyssa Necole Johnson, to Dustin Ray Triplett, the son of Lois Ann Triplett of Boomer and Tommy Ray Triplett of Lenoir.

The bride-elect is a 2011 graduate of West Wilkes High School and is a 2016 graduate of Appalachian State University, with a bachelor of science degree in child development.  She is employed as a child protective services social worker for Ashe County Department of Social Services.

The prospective groom is a 2012 graduate of Wilkes Central High School and a 2016 graduate of Western Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in health and physical education. He is a 2018 graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University with a master of arts degree in teaching and is employed as a track and field coach for Lenoir-Rhyne and as a contractor for Brushy Mountain Wood Works.

A Sept. 7 wedding is planned in Millers Creek.
