Shelby Lynn Chandler and Edwin Hugh (Trey) Martin III were married April 1, at Chapel in the Pines, Chapel Hill. The Rev. J.D. Granade, son of Dr. Nelson Granade, and Sharilyn Owens, officiated at the ceremony. Wedding music was provided by Rob Passow, pianist.

The bride is the daughter of Sheri and David Chandler of Chapel Hill. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and is employed by Fidelity Investments.

The groom is the son of Ed and Jamie Martin of Wilkesboro. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is employed by Sequence Quality and Appliance Services.

Given in marriage by her parents, Col. and Mrs. David B. Chandler, the bride carried a bouquet of Carolina blue and white hydrangeas.

Nicole Knowlson was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Brittany Martin of Ferguson and Brielle Zuber.

Tyler Updike served as best man. Ushers were Connor Elledge of Chapel Hill and Caleb Hawkins of Washington, D.C.

A reception was held in honor of the bridal couple at Briar Chapel Clubhouse in Chapel Hill.

Following a wedding trip to Europe, where they visited various points of interest including Frankfurt, Germany, and Paris, France, the couple is residing in Raleigh.

Prenuptial events

A rehearsal dinner honoring the bridal couple was held at the Briar Chapel Clubhouse.

The bridal couple was honored at an engagement party at the home of Peggy and Garrin Halsch, at the Halsch residence on Holly Tree Drive, Wilkesboro.
