Pauline Elmore Sloop of North Wilkesboro recently celebrated her 100th birthday, She was born Nov. 11, 1918, to Elzie and Mattie Elmore and grew up in the N.C. 268 East area of North Wilkesboro.

Mrs. Sloop was the wife of the late Woodrow Sloop and has spent her life as a homemaker. Her children are Doris Combs (Ted) of Hays, Gilbert Sloop (Shelby) of North Wilkesboro and Larry Sloop of North Wilkesboro. She also has four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends gathered Nov. 11 at Bethel Baptist Church Vision Center to honor her on her 100th birthday.

Mrs. Sloop enjoys working puzzles and spending time with her family.
