MR. AND MRS. STEVEN MICHAEL O’NEIL JR.

Cara Lucretia Parker and Steven Michael O’Neil Jr. were married May 22, 2016, on Blue Mojito Beach at the Hyatt Resort and Spa in Key West, Fla. Officiant Peggy Russell performed the sunset ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Andrew and Gayle Childers Parker of Moravian Falls. She is a 2007 graduate of Wilkes Central High School. The bride graduated from Appalachian State University with a bachelor of social work in 2011 and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a master of science in social work in 2012. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. The bride is employed as a licensed clinical social worker with the Helen Ross McNabb Center.

The groom is the son of Steven and Elsa O’Neil of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of St. Bernard, La. He is a 2005 graduate of St. Bernard High School and graduated with distinction from King University with a bachelor of business administration in 2016. He is employed as a customer care representative with the Elavon Company, a subsidiary of U.S. Bank.

Carrying a bouquet of lilac hydrangeas, the bride wore an ivory lace A-line, designer gown which featured a V-neckline, a keyhole back, Swarovski crystal embellishment at the waistline, and a sweeping train.

Following the ceremony, dinner was held at the Shor American Seafood Grill and included a vanilla and strawberry cream cake adorned with white chocolate sea shells.

Following a stay at the Key West Hyatt Resort and Spa, the couple resides in Knoxville, Tenn.

On April 23, 2016, the couple was honored with a household shower at North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church. Hostesses were friends of the bride-elect Mandy Tetzlaff and Courtney Rothrock, and aunts of the bride-to-be, Gwendolyn White, Christa Wike and Dawn Childers. Assisting the hostesses were Anita Crunk, Kim Tetzlaff and Nell Parker.

On May 4, 2016, the bride was honored with a shower given by the Helen Ross McNabb Center in Sevierville, Tenn.
