William Vance “Bill” and Shirley Russell Nichols recently celebrated their golden 50th wedding anniversary. They were married at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Alexander County on Dec. 27, 1970.
They have two daughters, Tonya Felts and Janea Clonch; seven grandchildren, Makayla Nichols Taylor, Emily and Tymber Felts, Gabriella Lankford, Micah Clonch, Evan Howell and Ethan Walsh; and one step grandchild, Katie Clonch.
Due to COVID-19 the couple had two small gatherings, one by their family and friends at the home of their daughter, Tonya, and another by their church family at Middle Cross Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
