Dean Stanley Francis and Betty Jean Lovette Francis of North Wilkesboro celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends with a dinner on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at their home.

The couple has three daughters, Diane Anderson of North Wilkesboro; Linda George, of King George, Va.; and Amy Reins and husband, Allen, of Wilkesboro. They also have four grandchildren, Jody Johnson and husband Chris, of Winston-Salem; John George and  wife Katrina, of North Dakota; Shaina Francis Reins and Matthew Dean Reins of Wilkesboro, and great-granddaughter, Juniper Amelia George of North Dakota.

Mr. Francis built custom homes for several years and retired in 2000 after 28 years as a teacher with the Wilkes County Board of Education. Mrs. Francis retired in 1998 after 44 years of service with Carter-Hubbard Publishing Company and Wilkes Journal-Patriot. They are members of Journey of Grace Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro.

The Francises enjoy traveling. Since retiring they have visited in all 50 states and provinces of Canada.

They were married July 14, 1956.
