MR. AND MRS. ANDREW DEVIN MORETZ

Patricia Marie Cardinale and Andrew Devin Moretz were united in marriage on  Sept. 10, 2016, at The Arbors in Cleveland. The Rev. Dr. Patrick Maloy officiated at the 5:30 p.m. outdoor ceremony. Wedding music was provided by Split Second Sound of Charlotte.

The bride is the daughter of Carl and Dr. Betty Cardinale of Rock Hill, S.C. She is a 2012 graduate of Erskine College in Due West, S.C., with a degree in business administration. She is employed as a corporate recruiter for Wells Fargo, Charlotte.

The groom is the son of Mark and Cindy Moretz of Purlear. He is a 2010 graduate of Appalachian State University with a dual major in business management and economics. The groom is a strategic account executive with Aerotek in Charlotte.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a designer ball gown of silk,  featuring a lace bodice and sweetheart neckline. The back was enhanced  with satin-covered buttons.

The bride carried a bouquet of pink and white roses with assorted wax flowers and greenery.

Cate Cardinale, sister of the bride, of Rock Hill, S.C. and Dana Shifley of Cornelius, S.C. were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Jackie Shelkey, Emily Bauguess and Kayla Lynn Petty, all of Charlotte; Charliann Viviano of Huntersville, Madison Canter of Greenville, S.C. and Sara Sandifer of York, S.C.

Brandon Moretz, brother of the groom, of New York, served as best man. Groomsmen were Andrew Scercy, Ryan Gregory, Todd Parsons and Brandon Walker, all of Charlotte, Anthony Cardinale of Rock Hill, S.C, brother of the bride, David Gift of Kitty Hawk and Christopher Ray of Maine.

Lauren Robertson of Charlotte directed the wedding ceremony.

Following a wedding trip to Amalfi, Italy, the couple is residing in Charlotte.

Reception

A reception was held in honor of the bridal couple in the banquet hall of The Arbors, Cleveland. Guests were served light hors d’oeuvres and assorted beverages following the wedding ceremony.

Following the introduction of the wedding party, the bridal couple had their first dance, followed by the father/daughter dance and the mother/son dance.

A buffet dinner was served. The three-tiered wedding cake, made of yellow cake with butter cream frosting and red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, was adorned with pink roses.

Split Second Sound of Charlotte provided music for dancing. The couple departed under a tunnel of bubbles.

Rehearsal dinner

The bridal couple and wedding party were honored at a rehearsal dinner on Friday evening, Sept. 9, at Twisted Oak American Grill, Statesville.

Hosts were the prospective groom’s parents, Mark and Cindy Moretz.

Courtesies extended

Patricia Cardinale and Devin Moretz were honored at a household shower on June 11, 2016, at the home of Mark and Jeanette Canter. Hostesses were Patricia Gregory, Debbie Queen, Jeannie Beshears and Mrs. Canter, all aunts of the prospective groom.

The bridal couple was honored at a brunch on Aug. 6, 2016, given by Tonya Conrad and Carol Ann Howden in Rock Hill, S.C.

Jackie Shelkey was hostess for a girls’ weekend in Charlotte, in honor of the bride-elect.
