Mrs. Catherine Meyer Teets of Terra Alta, W.Va. announces the engagement of her daughter, Ashley Catherine Teets, to Robert Scott Belote III of Davidson. Ashley is also the daughter of Robert Teets of Elizabethtown, Ky.

The bride-elect is a summa cum laude graduate of Alderson Broaddus College with a B.F.A. in visual art and a minor in creative writing. After two semesters of graduate work at West Virginia University, she continued her graduate study through the Simmons College satellite graduate program at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Mass. She holds a master’s in arts administration through the University of Kentucky and is a graduate of Don Bluth University. She is a portrait artist, muralist and art instructor in Charlotte. Her grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Clem Teets of Terra Alta, W.Va., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick W. Meyer of Beckley, W.Va.,

The prospective groom, Robert Belote III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Belotte Jr. of Wilkesboro, is a 2008 graduate of North Wilkes High School and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He works as a digital product analyst for Lowe’s Companies Inc. in Mooresville. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. William Dean Shephard of Laurel Springs, and Maggie Shatley Shephard of Crumpler, the late Robert Scott Belote Sr. and Charlotte Barbiere Belote of Wilkesboro.

A spring wedding is planned.
