Jenny Faye Griffin of Wilkesboro and Gordon Craven of Bel Air, Md., were married Aug. 19, 2016, at the bride’s home in Wilkesboro. The Rev. Chris Goodman officiated at the 7 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of the late Carl and Cora Pennington of Laurel Springs. She is a graduate of Ashe Central High School and is employed by Broadway Water Association.
The groom is the son of the late John Marshall Craven and the late Betty Severt. He attended Glade Valley School and is a retired home builder and retired drag racer.
Given in marriage by her son, Justin Hurley, the bride wore an off-white, A-line, lace dress.
Barbara Calloway of Wilkesboro was matron of honor. Dave Goodman of West Jefferson served as best man.
Ring bearer was Cannon Carpenter of Millers Creek.
Julie Mobley directed the wedding ceremony. Britney Hurley attended the guest register.
Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the bride’s home.
Tables were covered with purple cloths and were adorned with purple wildflowers.
Guests were served ham and cheese trays, vegetable tray, fruit tray, chicken wings and wedding cake.
Assisting in serving were Fannie Chandler, Mary Sebastian and Shirley Calloway.
The couple is residing in Wilkesboro.
