MR. AND MRS. ROBERT CAMERON WADDELL

Ronda Lea Boykin and Robert Cameron Waddell were united in marriage Nov. 11, 2017, at the Boathouse at Front Street Village, Beaufort. The Rev. Aaron Woodrum officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Bonnie Boykin of Hamptonville. She is a graduate of East Wilkes High School and is a graduate of the Wilkes Regional Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology, North Wilkesboro. The bride is employed as a diagnostic imaging supervisor at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory.

The groom is the son of Kermit and Kim Waddell of North Wilkesboro. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University and Charlotte School of Law. The groom is employed by the North Carolina Court System as an assistant district attorney in the 23rd judicial district.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a designer, fit and flare gown featuring cascading lace appliques and a striking hemline. The gown was designed with scalloped lace illusion and a V neckline. Tiny straps with lines of lace appliques adorned the illusion back.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white hydrangeas, white roses and white mini calla lilies.

Tara Hayes of Winston-Salem was matron of honor. Deidre Childress of North Wilkesboro was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Justice of Granite Falls, Myla Farmer of West Jefferson and Anastasia Waddell of North Wilkesboro.

Kermit Waddell of North Wilkesboro served as best man for his son. Ushers were Adam Anderson of Wilkesboro, Nathan Handy of Greensboro, Kalan Pegg of Charlotte and Kris Bell of North Wilkesboro.

Flower girls were Camryn Hayes and Karis Hayes of Winston-Salem.

Amber Dixon directed the wedding ceremony. Amy Jo and Abby Couch of State Road attended the guest register.

Following a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple is residing in North Wilkesboro.

Reception

A reception was held in honor of the bridal couple at the Boathouse at Front Street Village, Beaufort. A nautical theme was carried out, using anchors and the chosen colors of navy and white, with gold accents.

Tables were adorned with navy and white runners, white lanterns, white flowers and assorted greenery and a frosted glass votive candle wrapped with rope detailing and accented with an anchor charm.

Guests were served beef tenderloin and shrimp and grits. The wedding cake was placed on a pier-style cake stand, made by the groom and his father.

The groom surprised the bride by writing and recording the song for their first dance.

Jessica Wagoner of Hamptonville assisted with the photography. Disc jockey was Rob Webb of Morehead City. Umbrellas Wedding and Events of Newport assisted with the flowers.

Rehearsal dinner

The bridal couple and wedding party were honored at a rehearsal dinner at Off the Hook restaurant in Morehead City. Hosts were the prospective groom’s parents.

Courtesies extended

Anastasia Waddell, sister of the prospective groom, was hostess at an engagement party in honor of the bridal couple June 3.

The bride-elect was honored at a bridal shower at the Clingman Community Center, given by her mother and her bridesmaids.

A family bridal shower honoring the bridal couple was given by the bride-elect’s aunts, Kay Talle and Linda Lawrence, in Raleigh.
