NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON REQUEST FOR ANNEXATION

The public will take notice that the Town Council of the Town of Wilkesboro has called a public hearing on Monday, August 3rd, 2020, at 5:30 p.m. at Wilkesboro Civic Center, located at 1241 School Street, on the question of annexing the following described territory, requested by petition filed pursuant to G.S. 160A-31:

All that tract of land lying and being in the Reddies River Township, Wilkes County, Wilkesboro, North Carolina, and being all that certain tract as described in Deed Book 265, page 229 and again described in Deed Book 361, page 85 in the Wilkes County Register of  Deeds and being currently owned by Phillip Wesley Dancy as recorded in Will Book 82E, page 234 of said Registry and being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at an existing concrete Right-of-Way Monument. Said monument being the Northwestern Right-of-Way corner of Dancy Road, (S.R.#1323), of that certain NCDOT project 6.769001B, as shown in Right-of-Way Book 1, page 32, sheet 14. Thence with the western margin of Dancy Road, S02°03’25”W 63.31’ to an existing #5 Rebar. Thence leaving said Right-of-Way and with the line of 6K Properties, LLC, N87°31’36”W 179.90’ to a computed point located in the center of a Duke Power Company powerline easement. Thence continuing with said line N87°31’36”W 142.67’ to an existing #5 Rebar. Said rebar being located N11°16’05”W 261.92’ from an existing #5 Rebar. Thence with the lines of CMH Homes, Inc. as recorded in Deed Book 752, page 769 and Deed Book 768, page 614, N88°29’25”W 316.47’ to an existing 1 1/2” Iron Rod. Thence N87°54’23”W 8.30’ to an existing Pinched Iron Pipe. Thence continuing with the same line, N87°54’23”W 458.74’ to an existing #4 Rebar. Said Rebar being a common corner of Phillip Wesley Dancy and Bobby G. Hamby. Thence with the line of Hamby as recorded in Deed Book 858, page 588, N11°00’27”W 205.88’ to an existing 3/4” Iron Pipe. Thence with another line of Bobby G. Hamby as recorded in Deed Book 1103, page 184, N10°32’08”W 432.40’ to an existing #4 Rebar. Thence with the line of Anthony Minton as recorded in Deed Book 1295, page 78 and with the line of Willie T. Eller as recorded in Deed Book 325, page 434, N11°15’56”W 296.32’ to a #4 Rebar set in the line of Parks Edward Frazier, Jr. as recorded in Deed Book 1260, page 123 and as shown in Plat Book 11, page 560. Said Rebar being located N74°30’10”E 29.91’ from an existing #4 Rebar. Thence with the line of Frazier, N74°30’10”E 220.14’ to an existing 1” Flat Iron. Thence with the line of Kenneth L. Eastridge, Sr. as recorded in Deed Book 933, page 337, N74°29’59”E 248.22’ to an existing 1”Iron Pipe near an Axle. Said Iron Pipe being located S16°01’12”W 69.34’ from an existing #5 Rebar. Thence with the line of Ronald Dean Hart as recorded in Deed Book 578, page 192 and Deed Book 1106, page 419, the following two calls; 1) N74°29’59”E 129.46’ to a computed point located in the center of a Duke Power Company powerline easement. 2) N74°29’59”E 73.88’ to a #4 Rebar set in the western Right-of-Way of Winkler Mill Road, (S.R. #1322), a 60’ public Right-of-Way per Deed Book 512, page 1586. Thence with the western Right-of-Way of Winkler Mill Road the following eight calls; 1) a curve to the right having a radius of 800.82’ and an arc length of 165.02’ and being subtended by a chord bearing and distance of S44°01’17”E 164.73’ to a computed point located in the center of a Duke Power Company powerline easement. 2) a curve to the right having a radius of 800.82’ and an arc length of 42.16’ and being subtended by a chord bearing and distance of S36°36’36”E 42.15’ to a #4 Rebar set. 3) Thence S35°06’07”E 102.12’ to a #4 Rebar set. 4) Thence a curve to the left having a radius of 360.00’ and an arc length of 201.34’ and being subtended by a chord bearing and distance of S51°07’27”E 198.73’ to a #4 Rebar set. 5) Thence S67°08’46”E 181.18’ to a #4 Rebar set. 6) Thence a curve to the right having a radius of 842.56’ and an arc length of 60.46’ and being subtended by a chord bearing and distance of S65°05’26”E 60.45’ to a computed point located in the center of a Duke Power Company powerline easement. 7) Thence a curve to the right having a radius of 842.56’ and an arc length of 25.16’ and being subtended by a chord bearing and distance of S62°10’45”E 25.16’ to a #4 Rebar set. 8) Thence a curve to the left having a radius of 276.81’ and an arc length of 92.40’ and being subtended by a chord bearing and distance of S70°53’13”E 91.98’ to a Nail set in the pavement. Thence with Dancy Road, (S.R. #1323), 501 °26’06”W 576.97’ to a computed point located at the end of NCDOT project 6.7690018, as shown in Right-of-Way Book 1, page 32, sheet 14. Said computed point being located N45°21’33”W 79.69’ from the Northwest corner of Lot 2C, Kennedy Street Property, as shown in Plat Book 11, page 229. Thence with the terminus of said NCDOT project, N87°04’57”W 10.58’ to an existing concrete Right-of-Way Monument. Thence N87°04’57”W 22.39’ to the point and place of beginning, containing 25.830 Acres, Tract A, as show on that certain Survey by Piedmont Design Associates, P.A., dated May, 27th, 2020, entitled “Boundary and Physical Survey of 30.560 Acres located at W. U.S. Highway 421 & Dancy Road prepared for 6K Properties, LLC”, signed and sealed by Mark S. Pence PLS, a North Carolina Professional Surveyor.
