NOTICE OF INTENT TO APPROVE LEASE AGREEMENT

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the County of Wilkes (hereinafter the “County”), through action of its Board of Commissioners and upon the recommendation of the Wilkes County Airport Board, pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes 153A-176, 160A-272, and 63-53(3), proposes to enter into a Lease Agreement with Window World, Inc. (hereinafter “Window World”) for the lease of certain real property at the Wilkes County Airport.  Said Lease Agreement (hereinafter “Agreement”) contains, but is not limited to, the following terms:

1. DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY TO BE LEASED: The Agreement is for the lease of approximately 20,836 square feet (0.478 acres) of ground space, together with an aircraft hangar situated thereon which has been constructed by the County and which is approximately 10,000 square feet in size, the same being located between the hangar and office building formerly owned by U*S Aviation, LLC (now owned by the County and known as the “community hangar”) and the terminal building at the Wilkes County Airport.  

2. AMOUNT AND TERMS OF OFFER: Window World proposes to lease the above described property from the County, and the County proposes to lease the same to Window World, for a term of five (5) years with a retroactive commencement date of March 1, 2018, at a rental of $3,000.00 per month.  Said lease authorizes Window World to engage in the storage of aircraft, together with aircraft parts and accessories; to utilize the leased premises for other purposes consistent with aeronautical use as set forth in the Agreement; and to construct additional improvements on the property in the form of office space.  Said lease shall in all respects be subject to the Rules and Regulations for the Wilkes County Airport.

FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the Wilkes County Board of Commissioners intends to authorize and approve the Agreement at its next regular meeting occurring thirty (30) or more days after the date of this Notice, in the Commissioners’ Room at the Wilkes County Office Building in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.  Any person who wishes to obtain a copy of the Agreement prior to said meeting should contact the office of Anthony R.
