The Wilkes County Solid Waste Department will be accepting sealed bids for construction of the Phase 5 Expansion of the Roaring River Landfill located at 9219 Elkin Highway, Roaring River, N.C. 28669.  This project includes construction of erosion and sediment control features, earthwork and grading of base grades and perimeter road, construction of the low-permeability soil liner and geosynthetic materials installation for the MSW landfill, construction of the liner system protective/drainage layer, and installation of the leachate collection system and dual contained gravity drain.

Sealed bids will be due no later than March 3, 2020 by 3:00 p.m.

Bids will be reviewed in the board meeting March 17, 2020.

Bids should be hand delivered or mailed to Wilkes County Solid Waste Department (Attn: Anderia Byrd) at 9219 Elkin Highway, Roaring River, N.C. 28669. Place “BID ENCLOSED” and bid opening date on the envelope. Award will be made in the best interest of Wilkes County, subject to the requirements of North Carolina General Statutes §143-129.2. The right to reject any or all bids and proposals and to accept bids other than the low bid is reserved. Award is anticipated on or about March 17, 2020 with construction beginning by the end of March 2020.
