A Wilkes Health Department COVID-19 first dose vaccination clinic that was moved from Thursday to Saturday due to expected inclement weather is canceled due to weather-related vaccine shipment delays statewide and nationwide, announced the health department Wednesday morning.

A health department spokesman said those with appointments at the canceled clinic, which was to be at Lowe’s Park at River’s Edge, will be called to reschedule their vaccination times at a future clinic.

A second dose clinic planned on Friday at River’s Edge will still be held as scheduled, said the spokesman.
