Wilkes Community College recently paid tribute to two former WCC trustees.

At its meeting on April 8, Wilkes Community College paid tribute to the late Sylvia Robinson, a trustee from July 1, 2010, through June 4, 2020.

Dr. Jeff Cox, WCC president, and Terry Bumgarner, WCC Board of Trustees chairman, presented Robinson’s family with a plaque noting her service to WCC and a resolution noting her contributions to the college and Wilkes County.

Paul Robinson, her brother, spoke of her dedication to the board and how she took much pride in her time as a board member.

Katrina V. Miller, former WCC trustee, was honored with a luncheon hosted by fellow Ashe County trustees Josh Roten and Kelly Vannoy at Jefferson Landing Country Club. Cox and Bumgarner presented Miller with a plaque noting her service to the WCC trustees and a resolution noting her contributions to WCC and Ashe County.

Cox noted her valuable contributions as chairman of the WCC Finance Committee. Mrs. Miller served on the board from July 1, 2004, through June 30, 2020.
