Two felony cases were heard in the April 13 session of Wilkes District Court, one resulting in a prison sentence and the other not.

Judge William F. Brooks sentenced Ronnie Dale Roberts to nine to 20 months in prison, with credit for 49 days in jail, after Roberts pleaded no contest and was found guilty of to possession of methamphetamine.

Brooks sentenced Howard Ellis Roten o 11-23 months in prison, suspended, with 24 months of supervised probation, after Roten pleaded no contest to possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule two controlled substance. Brooks ordered that Roten pay a $600 ab fee, $200 fine and his court-appointed attorney fee.
