Margaret Johnson dies Saturday; funeral Saturday

Margaret Diane Johnson, 39, of Thurmond, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014.

She was born April 14, 1974 in Orange County, Fla., to Deborah Cardwell.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her mother, Deborah Cardwell Correll; son, Larry Wayne Call; and grandmother, Margaret Dingler.

Surviving are two sons, Billy Dale Correll and Austin Call, both of Hays; two daughters, Angel Sidden and husband, Michael, and Heaven Call, all of Hays; brother, Robert Hall Jr., of Hudson; two sisters, De-etta Call and husband, Larry J., and Christie Rhodes, all of North Wilkesboro; four grandchildren, Brayden and Keira Johnson, Isaiah Cardwell, and Nevaeh Williams; and maternal grandfather, Ronald “Pete” Cardwell and wife, Mary Jean, of Hays.

The funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at Miller Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 2 until 3 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted.

Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

Feature flume on new mural

While I am not personally involved in the artwork for the Yadkin Valley Marketplace mural in downtown North Wilkesboro, I think the Giant  Lumber Co. flume would be a great background for whatever artwork the committee decides to use.
