McArthur Higdon, 67, of Hackett Town Road, Ferguson, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Higdon was born March 2, 1946 in Swain County to John Henry and Lora Higdon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Mae Smith and Margaret Merritt; and one brother, Rocky Higdon.
Survivors include his wife, Joreatha Lucille Gray Higdon; two daughters, Judy Kiser and husband, Harry, of Gastonia, and Tammy Hefner and husband, Joe, of Lincolnton; one son, Kevin Higdon and wife, Angie, of Hickory; two sisters, Faye Higdon of Gastonia and Nellie Gunner of Bryson City; one brother, J.C. Higdon of Bryson City; one stepdaughter, Margaret Ann Olszewski of Lincolnton; two stepsons, Eddie Burrage of Charlotte and Ernie Burrage of Denver; 43 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Bryson City.
