Navy Lt. Commander Curtiss L. Bailey, 41, died Monday April 25, 2011, at his home in Tomball, Texas.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with the Rev. Brent Bailey officiating. Burial, with military honors by the Navy, will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park.
The family will be at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., prior to the service.
Born Aug. 24, 1969, in The Bronx, N.Y., Bailey lived in The Bronx and Brooklyn until devoting the next two decades of his life to the service of his country. Bailey enlisted in the Air Force after completion of high school and served for eight years. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from The University of New Mexico, he was commissioned as a Naval officer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Eugene Bailey Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Sonya Bailey; one daughter, Tiara Bailey of Gilbert, Ariz.; mother, Gretta Bailey of Brooklyn, N.Y..; brother, Douglas B. Bailey Jr., of Okinawa, Japan; sister, Elisa Bailey of The Bronx, N.Y., and sister, Azalea Bailey of Charlotte; stepdaughters, Kieyanna Royster of Gastonia, and Jarnae Royster of Providence R.I.; and stepson, Joel Royster of Providence R.I.
