Jo Anne Nippa dies Saturday; service Tuesday

Jo Anne Nippa, 80, of North Wilkesboro, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at noon Tuesday at the Gazebo at Grandview Apartments.

Mrs. Nippa was born Aug, 31, 1931 in Flint, Mich., to Joseph John and Dorothy Elizabeth Ellinger Theolet.  She retired from General Motors. She was a member of the Central Nazarene Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Theolet.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol Sue Felts of McGrady; two sons, Craig Joseph Nippa and wife, June, of Cottonwood, Ariz., Gary Withers and wife, Barb, of Richmond, Va.; one brother, Jim Theolet and wife, Marilyn, of Davidson, Mich.; and six grandchildren.

Keeping old-time up front

Appearing for numerous performances Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the South Carolina Broadcasters was a primary torchbearer for old-time music and was one of the hardest working bands at MerleFest 2016.
