Brittany Leigh Hunnicutt and Joshua Austin Eller were married on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Kent Eller and the Rev. Jerry L. Smith, father and grandfather of the groom, officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Brent and Jackie Hunnicutt of Purlear. Her paternal grandparents are Carl Holden Hunnicutt and the late Mrs. Marilyn Detter Hunnicutt, and her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Russell Wilson of Spartanburg, S.C.

The groom is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Kent Eller of Millers Creek. His paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Eller of Millers Creek and his maternal grandparents are the Rev. and Mrs. Jerry L. Smith of North Wilkesboro.

Stephanie Arlene Wald and Andrew Wayne Barker were married June 20, 2015, at Glassy Mountain Chapel in Landrum, S.C. The Rev. Tony Grant officiated.

The bride is the daughter of James and Gloria Wald of West Union, S.C. She is a 2004 graduate of Walhalla High School, in Walhalla, S.C., and is a 2008 graduate of Clemson University. The bride is employed by Clemson University, as an E-commerce analyst.

The groom is the son of Irvin and Sherry Barker of North Wilkesboro. He is a 2002 graduate of North Wilkes High School and is a 2008 graduate of Appalachian State University. The groom is employed by the Department of Defense in Greenville, S.C., as a senior auditor.

Yount-Weston couple marries

Danielle Nicole Weston and Samuel Adam Yount were united in marriage on June 20, 2015, at Little Rock Baptist Church, Boomer. The Rev. Paul Brown of Canton officiated at the 11 a.m. ceremony. Brenda Anderson, soloist, Chris Anderson, guitarist, and Gloria Kilby, pianist, provided wedding music.

The bride is the daughter of Dan and Diana Weston of Herring Ridge Road, Boomer. She is a graduate of Wilkes Central High School and graduated with distinction from Appalachian State University’s School of Education. The bride was also a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. For the past two years, she has been teaching middle school in the Wilkes County School System, and will begin the master’s degree program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in August 2015.

The groom is the son of Jerry and Mary Yount of Granite Falls. He is a graduate of Harris Chapel Christian Academy in Hudson and graduated with distinction from Appalachian State University’s School of Education. He is employed as a middle school teacher for Wilkes County Schools.

Miss Katie Elizabeth Lockhart and Edward McKnight Spencer were united in marriage on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 5:30 p.m., at the home of the bride’s mother in North Wilkesboro. The outdoor ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Ben Boswell of Cary and the Rev. Ed Spencer, father of the groom, of Charlotte.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Cathy Lockhart of North Wilkesboro and the late David Lockhart. The groom is the son of Ed and Allison Spencer of Charlotte and the late Deborah Spencer.

Escorted by her brother, Mike Lockhart of Apex, the bride wore an ivory chantilly lace dress which featured a sweetheart neckline, cap sleeves, lace-up back and mermaid skirt with a sweep train. She wore a matching elbow-length ivory veil with ribbon edge. The bride also wore a cluster diamond ring belonging to her paternal grandmother, matching earrings and her mother’s pearl bracelet. She carried a bouquet of ivory hydrangea, peonies and roses with accents of brunia berries, dusty miller and purple calla lilies.

Johnson-Jarvis couple weds

Pat Jarvis and Don Johnson were married Jan. 2, 2015, at Light of Love Wedding Chapel in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. A 4 p.m. wedding ceremony was performed by the Rev. Jack Roberts.

After the couple spent their honeymoon in Pigeon Forge and surrounding areas, they returned to their home in Wilkesboro.

A celebration of their marriage was held at Benton Hall, North Wilkesboro, with approximately 100 guests attending. A buffet meal was served in the dining area where a video of the couple’s wedding was on display.

She carried a hand-tied bouquet of shocking versilia and marlisse roses, green fiji mums and hydrangea, hypericum berries, and pink carnations framed with loops of lily grass wrapped in a sheer watermelon chiffon ribbon.

The wedding ceremony was held in the gardens at The Inn on Biltmore Estate in Asheville, with the Rev. Todd Alewine officiating. Kaylin Brittany Lambert and Justin Andrew Hale were united in marriage Oct. 18, 2014, at Herring Ridge, Boomer. The Rev. Fred Staley officiated at the 4 p.m. ceremony. A program of pre-recorded music was provided.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Beverly Lambert of Purlear. She is a 2010 graduate of Living Arts Institute and is employed by Wilkes Women’s Care as a medical assistant.

The groom is the son of Linda Hale of Millers Creek and Charles and Joanne Hale of North Wilkesboro. He is a 2009 graduate of the Guilford Technical Community College Fire Academy. He is a volunteer firefighter for Moravian Falls Fire Department and Wilkes Rescue Squad. The groom is the owner of Hale’s Lawn Care.

Harris-Holbrook couple exchanges wedding vows

Stephanie K. Spicer Holbrook and Michael Scott “Scotty” Harris II were married Oct. 4, 2014, in their barn in Elkin. The Rev. Travis Lloyd officiated. Music was provided by Maranda Vestal, The Dirt Road Revival Band and Heath Reece.

The bride is the daughter of Melvin and Wilma Spicer of Roaring River. She is a 1999 graduate of East Wilkes High School and is a 2001 graduate of Wilkes Community College.

The bride is currently employed by State Employees’ Credit Union, and is attending Surry Community College.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Tammy Bauguess of Traphill. She is a 2008 graduate of North Wilkes High School and is a 2013 graduate of Gardner-Webb University, with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice.

The groom is the son of Jeffery Church of Hays and Tanya Lawter of Hays. He is a 2007 graduate of North Wilkes High School and is employed by Lowe’s.

The bride is the daughter of Rodney and Rita Wells of Ronda. She is a 2011 graduate of East Wilkes High School and is a student at Wilkes Community College.

The groom is the son of Roger Kim Hamby of Boomer and Linda Testerman Roten of Hickory. He is a 2010 graduate of West Wilkes High School and is a 2012 graduate of Wilkes Community College with an associate degree in heavy equipment and diesel technology.

Erica Marie Serrano and Jordan Charles Berry were married June 27, 2014, in an outdoor ceremony at The Lodge in Concord. Phil Klein officiated at the 4:30 p.m. ceremony. Music was provided by Jeanette Albury, Walker Bengtson, David Curran, Davey Kolk, Dominic Geralds, Chris Hill and Michael Wine.

The bride is the daughter of Ginger Law of Wilkesboro and Anibal Serrano of Lillington. She is a 2011 graduate of Wilkes Central High School and attended Appalachian State University. She is self-employed as a wedding photographer at Erica Serrano Photography. 

The groom is the son of Bob and Robyn Berry of Wilkesboro. He is a 2009 graduate of Wilkes Central High School and is a 2013 summa cum laude graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science. In January, he will begin graduate school at Winston-Salem State University to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy. He is employed as a guitarist at Elevation Church in Charlotte.

She also obtained her business in administration in accounting degree from Western Carolina University in 2011 and is currently employed at Lowe’s Companies.

Roxanne Chappell, formerly of Edenton, and Jim Gray, formerly of Wilkesboro, were married on June 5, 2014, in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. The Rev. Louise Leard officiated at the beachside ceremony at Carombola Beach.

The bride is the daughter of Sallie and Raymond Chappell of Edenton and is the granddaughter of Clara Peele and the late Wallace Peele of Edenton and Rita Chappell and the late Mayward Chappell of Hobbsville. She is a 2013 graduate of North Carolina State University where she received a bachelor of arts degree in communication.

The groom is the son of Vicki and Jeff Gray of Davidson, formerly of Wilkesboro, and is the  grandson of Betty Roupe and the late Fred Roupe of Sparta, and Shirley and Eugene Gray of Lenoir. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 2013 with a bachelor of science in chemical engineering. He is employed with Cuyo KeO in Christiansted, St. Croix.

The groom is the son of Margo Christofer of Manhasset, N.Y., and the late Peter Nicholas Christofer. He is a 2003 graduate of Manhasset High School in Manhasset, N.Y., a 2007 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor of science degree in business administration, and is a 2013 graduate of UNC-CH with a master of business administration degree. She is a 2009 graduate of North Wilkes High School and is a 2011 graduate of Wilkes Community College with an associate in arts degree. The bride is currently a student at Wingate University School of Pharmacy, with an expected graduation date of 2016. She is employed at Rite Aid Pharmacy as a pharmacy intern.
