DaSheria Brooke Moretz and Jonathan Sidney Perry were united in marriage on Aug. 25, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Mark Hall officiated at the 4 p.m. ceremony. Maci Hall, pianist, provided wedding music.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Melissa Taylor of North Wilkesboro and Richard Moretz of Wilkesboro. She is a 2009 graduate of West Wilkes High School and attended Wilkes Community College. The bride is employed by Cook’s Sporting Goods.
The groom is the son of Jonathan Jr. Perry of Millers Creek and the late Regina Shelton. He is a 2007 graduate of West Wilkes High School and attended Wilkes Community College. The groom is employed by Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless gown designed with a sweetheart neckline, set into a fitted bodice adorned with sparkling beaded lace appliques. The gown featured a side draping cut and a flowing chapel length train. She carried a fresh bouquet of lavender roses, cream hydrangea, green poms and Hawaiian wax flowers.
Miss Mandy Brown of Wilkesboro, aunt of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Taylor of Purlear, Megan Perry of Millers Creek, cousin of the groom, and Tiffany Blackburn of North Wilkesboro. Junior bridesmaids were Nicole Brown of Sparta, cousin of the bride, and Nicole Blair of Wilkesboro.
Jonathan Jr. Perry served as best man for his son. Ushers were Brent Perry of Millers Creek, brother of the groom; Alex Moretz of Wilkesboro, brother of the bride; Jason Greene and Thomas Cheek of Millers Creek; and Eric Stanley of Wilkesboro.
Madison Greene of Millers Creek was flower girl. Ring bearer was Cody Brown of Millers Creek, cousin of the bride.
Mrs. Laura Blackburn directed the wedding ceremony. Becky Deal of Millers Creek and Diane Ellis of Wilkesboro, aunts of the bride, attended the guest register.
Following a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple is residing in Millers Creek.
A reception was held in honor of the bridal couple at Talia’s Bassment in North Wilkesboro. A summer wedding theme was carried out, using the bride’s colors of lilac and lime green.
Guests were served grilled chicken and barbecue, with all the fixings. The three-tiered, square wedding cake, decorated with green fabric ribbon, icing pearls and fresh flowers, was topped with the initial “P.”
Brushy Mountain Smokehouse assisted with the meal.
An evening of fun and dancing provided by disc jockey Jody Brown, followed the cake-cutting.
Assisting in serving were Sharon Brown, Becky Deal, Diane Ellis, Jody Adams and Lauren Deal.
The prospective groom’s father, grandmother and aunt were hosts at a rehearsal dinner honoring the bridal couple and wedding party at the Calvary Baptist Church Family Life Center. A golf theme was used.
Mandy Brown was hostess at a pounding in honor of the bridal couple, at her home in Wilkesboro.
Members of Calvary Baptist Church honored the couple with a household shower.
A shower was held in honor of the bridal couple, at the Cricket Clubhouse, given by Betty and Wanda Perry.
